Mimi, How would a publisher go about submitting books to be considered for a tour? --either on Wild Card or FIRST? I have one in particular in mind, Frank Creed's Flashpoint: Book One of the Underground. Then this summer/ fall another few.

Caprice: Hopefully we'll have more spec fic lined up on Wild Card soon! I only started Wild Card after quitting the CFBA. It is a different way of doing a blog tour. I set it up and put up the html, but the contact person will be the author or publisher. They will put together the address list. This allows me to put up more blog tours. On FIRST, Teen FIRST, and Non~FIRST, I can only do one per month for each alliance. (I homeschool and write also...not enough time in the day!) Anyway, books are getting lined up and I will post any spec fic tours here! Cyn: Go to firstwildcardtours.blogspot.com/ it will tell you exactly how to get on the calendar for Wild Card. I do all kinds of books there! All genres, all age groups, fiction and non~fiction. Old and new books even! You can find a date on any month you want. Unfortunately, FIRST is booked up until February. Since it is only one tour a month, you can see how fast that happens. I try to keep it only six months out. So, I'm not accepting any books for consideration until September. (That's why I started Wild Card...it allows me to accept so much more, and it doesn't put such a time crunch on myself. It is easy to put a book on the calendar and make up an html post for it when I do not have to worry about the emails coming in for any particular book.)

Thanks Mimi, I've checked it out. One thing I can't figure out is the calendar. Well, yes, I see the calendar and that there is an open week in October (6-10) but I am not sure about what day of the week I am supposed to choose or does it matter?
I assume that it isn't a good idea to choose a week when there is another tour slotted during the same week?
Sorry to be so dense!

LOL, no worries. You just cannot chose a day that has one slotted already.
We have tentatively scheduled Sue Dent's Forever Richard for Oct 31, even though I will have a FIRST tour the next day. (I say tentatively because we are not positive on the release date.)
When you chose a date, email me from the link on the blog. I'll put it on the calendar for you. Make sure you know how many books you'd have to offer for reviewers and who the contact will be for the bloggers to send their addresses to. (Most likely that is you, correct?)
It is good to try to put about 3 days in between tours, but you never know who else will schedule one close to that date also. So, I say, choose the date that works best for you. :-D

YAY, Frank! I've already read it and reviewed it (GREAT book, btw), but one can always use the exposure. What I was hoping for (when I lamented about the late spec-fic) was good recommendations on summer reads. I have school starting August 6th. After that, all my free time (such as it is) evaporates. Guess I'll have to wait until Christmas.

Paid reading sure would be great. Almost like it's too much to hope for. But just in case, I bought that huge sci-fi tome that Steve Rice recommended. I'm just afraid to start it if I won't have time to finish it.

Just to restate, Sue Dent's Forever Richard is tentatively for Oct 31. (I say tentatively because we are not positive on the release date.)
There are no promises as to when this will come out...it is only to reserve the date for the book on the Wild Card calendar in case it can be ready by then. If it releases later, we'll move the date on the calendar. I am actually going to take down the title on the calendar and put up a big RESERVED sign...so, no one will be disappointed if it cannot get out by the 31st.
