Very cool, Frank. I don't think Clive is around to choose the winner, so who is acting in his stead? Or is it another vote thing? If so, we need the link!

Yo Cap-- Unsure who's even doing the judging for the Clive Staples Award. I do know it's connected to Becky Miller's Web presence. The idea has been bandied about since last summer--to supplement some big CBA contest that doesnt have an award category for any Christian or Biblical spec-fic. We have our own Amazon and Barnes & Nobel genre categories, so somebody's making money on it. It just ain't the CBA folks. Go figure. That said, I realistically don't see an ECPA house NOT taking the award just to make a political point. That aside, it's an honor just to be mentioned in the same category as my competition. I'm up against J.K. Rowling, Stephen Lawhead, Sharon Hinck Jeffery Overstreet and Tosca Lee. So far. That I know of. I don't have a prayer. So if you ask over on the Lost Genre Guild newsgroup somebody will know what organization(s) is/are officially sponsoring it, and who's judging it.

Last year Becky spoke about gathering a group of judges (asked me if I would be interested in volunteering -- that's when I got the hint and quit commenting on that particular issue

Certain houses are spec-fic friendly--that shouts in this list, loud & clear. The list also gives me hope.
Thanks for posting it!

Since the LOTR films, they've been fantasy friendly. Lee's Demon is spiritual thriller, and mine is sci-fi--I do believe all the rest are fantasy. But, yes. Finally hope!
